Debian->Exim & frozen

Could someone give me the skinny on frozen messages in Exim?
>From what I understand (could be wrong), something happened
in the delivery of the message which prompted Exim to flag it
as totaly undeliverable. If so, why (most common reason)? And how can I
delete these
messages from the queue?
