Ask PLUG: best OS for wireless applications

What is the best operating system for embedded wireless applications? I need
an OS that not only is best suited for wireless LAN/communications, but one
that has a great UI as well.

Sorry if it sounds like a loaded question, but I'm interested in the
opinions of the group.
