Cannot run StarOffice 6.0 beta binary

I have downloaded the setup binary for SO 6.0, and when I execute it, it says
glibc 2.2.3 and after a minute, stops executing. I am running it on a
Slackware 8.0 system. This concerns me, especially if I might not be able to
run the official release. Can anybody help out here?
