I use ntpdate once a night to keep my linux machines up to date. The time drift
seems to be exacerbated on multi-cpu systems (my quad PPro machine falls off
more than a minute a day).

Only problem I had to overcome was getting the sync to go past the NAT box (the
-u switch helps with this).
