New net protocol? outbind://

I've just found hyperlinks on some pages where the indicated protocol is
outbind. I've done some searching and came up with nothing that helped
me understand what this was all about. Obviously, Firebird didn't know
how to deal with it.

Does anyone know what this protocol is? What kind of clients can use it?
